[00:00:15] You're listening to School of Activities, the podcast where you where we bring you the wildest, funniest and most unforgettable school stories told by real students.
[00:00:28] When you make students teachers and field trips sometimes always goes down. I'm James.
[00:00:35] And I'm Halamatsu. Let's get into.
[00:00:45] Was supposed to be the best day of the year. The big field trip to Philadelphia. The teachers were hyped, the students were louder than the bus engine. And everyone had one mission.
[00:00:59] Take the best selfies, eat the best snacks and get the best souvenir for under 10 bucks.
[00:01:06] They hit all the big spots.
[00:01:09] The Liberty Bell, Independence hall, even that one gift shop that seals I love philly hat for $20 more than they should.
[00:01:23] But there was one stop. Everyone was waiting for. The famous Rocky statue.
[00:01:35] Yup, the same statue from the Rocky movies. The one where he runs up the stairs all sweaty and triumphant.
[00:01:45] Everyone lined up to take pictures, doing the pose, flexing their arms, pretending they had just finished a marathon.
[00:01:55] Then when one student lets calm him the messenger whisper to his friend's ears, if you lick the feet of the Rocky statue, you'll have good luck forever.
[00:02:15] At first, everyone laughed. Who'd actually do that?
[00:02:21] Apparently everyone.
[00:02:25] One by one, the kids lined up like it was a challenge on TikTok. Lick for luck. Lick for luck. They believed it so much that the bus driver probably thought about it for a second.
[00:02:39] And that's when it happened. A student who actually knew Philly history dropped the truth. The truth.
[00:02:50] Y' all know people have been peeing on that statue's foot for years, right?
[00:02:55] What followed was pure panic.
[00:03:00] Students spitting, screaming, searching for hand sanitizer like it was buried treasure.
[00:03:06] Some tried wiping their tongues with napkins. One kid pured bottle or sprite into his mouth like it was holy water. Another said, I'm gonna brush my teeth with ketchup. It's acidic. And everyone else yelled, that's not science. The teachers had no idea what had just gone down. There just was a bunch of kids suddenly upset with personal hygiene.
[00:03:38] But here is the weirdest part. After that day, everything started going right for those students.
[00:03:51] One of them found $10 on the ground.
[00:03:56] Another got an A on a pop quiz. The school lunch that week actually edible.
[00:04:06] It was like the curse of the Rocky statue turned into a blessing after the world's waste mouthwash.
[00:04:16] So what's the lesson here?
[00:04:19] Maybe good luck sometimes comes from bad decisions. Or baby is just never believe random field trips rumors. Either way, next time you see a statue, keep your tongue to yourself.
